Welcome!
Welcome to my personal website. It’s a nice mix of random personal tid-bits and semi-professional muses.
“Not everything that counts can
be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts.“ – Albert Einstein.
Management is both an art and a science. It’s something that we forget from time to time. If it were pure, cut-and-dry science not only would every business be profitable 100% of the time, but I wouldn’t find it nearly as appealing. It takes wide-ranging interests and worldly experience to be successful in business. (That, or just plain dumb luck.) For that reason, the Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business (AACSB) requires its member schools to allow no more than 50% of their curriculum to be comprised of business training. The rest has to come from other areas—again, wide ranging knowledge being the key to success. (Coincidentally, AACSB schools represent the ‘top’ 15-30% of business schools in this country.)
What My Clients are Saying
“I do sales. I’ve sold everything from Cutco knives door-to-door to cars, real estate, and now insurance as well. Working with Chris, I’ve updated a lot of my online media skills and got help with all of the other areas of business I didn’t know. Accounting, social media, and long-term strategy. He really helped me focus on doing what I loved—talking to people—because he helped me fill in the gaps. Thanks!”
- Josh Zullo, Insurance Agent; Charlotte, NC.
“Chris was an MM/WM consultant working with us on a global SAP implementation project. He is intelligent, personable, and a very hard worker. I hope that someday we will work together again on another project.”
- Daron Rainer, Sr. Business Analyst, Schneider Electric on January 7, 2010
So what do you do?
I like to help businesses succeed. I’m trained in formal project management methodology, and I’m a Certified Inbound Marketing Professional. Before that, I was an IBMer, helping clients like Daron implement Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
At the core of it all, I sit back and listen. I jot down notes. I ask small, probing questions, and I work hard to get to the heart of where the real grief is coming from. I know systems integration and process mapping. It’s amazing what insight you can get just from sketching the steps in a process. But it takes time, patience, and a willingness to understand without pre-judging a situation.
Sometimes a business owner can’t vent about their issue to employees. Troubles with cash flow, or inefficient systems might be considered too sensitive of a subject. So they’ll bring in a neutral party to hear what they have to say and get a second opinion. Plus, when its time to optimize and grow, it’s helpful having someone who knows a wide range of business technology to help you do it.
So, don’t be shy. Feel free to get in touch with me anytime. Don’t worry about it being on the clock. Right now, I’m here to help.
